Warm Greetings from the World Assembly of Youth headquarters in Melaka, Malaysia!

We are pleased to herewith circulate the Report of the 18th Melaka International Youth Dialogue (18th MIYD) “Youth Engineering A Sustainable Urbanisation” that was held from 24th to 28th of June 2018 at the Pantai Puteri Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia. The 18th MIYD was organised by the World Assembly of Youth in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia, Melaka State Government, the Asian Youth Council, the Commonwealth Youth Council, the Malaysian Youth Council and the Commonwealth Youth Innovation Center.

This theme was tackled at the international level, where it brought together over 140 young people and youth leaders from 42 countries. After comprehensive deliberations through paper presentations, plenary sessions, workshops and field trips, the participants put together an important outcome document that comprised of recommendations to all stakeholders inclusive of young people, in addressing and attaining sustainable urbanisation.

Recognising that in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and latest Urban Agenda, the participants also recommended that they, young people, should be at the forefront of universal transformation in taking actions and encouraging their peers to be responsible and proactive citizens in attainment of sustainable urbanisation.

We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Global Food Security Conference (GFSC) with the theme ‘Youth Step Up To Achieve Food Security’ scheduled to take place from 14th to 17th October 2018 at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia, has been cancelled. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.

The Organising Committee of GFSC would like to once again apologise for this last minute cancellation and would like to thank all the current registered delegates, speakers, observers, sponsors, and volunteers and wish to call upon them to continue supporting us and participating in the upcoming events.

We are pleased to inform you that The 29th International Youth Forum with the selected theme, “The 4th Industrial Revolution with Youth: Life in the Future”, is going to take place from 17 - 23 August, 2018 in Seoul and Goyang, Republic of Korea.

This event is hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Republic of Korea (MOGEF) and organised by the National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea (NCYOK) in partnership with the World Assembly of Youth (WAY). Warm greetings from the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) Headquarters in Melaka, Malaysia!

We are pleased to inform you that the 18th Melaka International Youth Dialogue (MIYD)with the theme ‘‘Youth Engineering A Sustainable Urbanisation’’ will be held from 24th – 28th June 2018 in Melaka, Malaysia. This Dialogue is organised by the World Assembly of Youth (WAY)in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia), the Melaka State Government, the Asian Youth Council, and the Malaysian Youth Council.

The 18th MIYD theme has been selected to uplift ideas and leverage the role of young people towards attaining a strategic and sustainable urbanisation. An interactive dialogue on this topic will be of significance to form, educate, and increase awareness on the challenges and entitlements of youth for a conducive and secure environment that assures and supports their development fully at the different levels of society that they represent. Thus, all participants and stakeholders will gather to call for action and structure experiences on the issue of Urbanisation and Youth Development. The outcome document will elevate youth contribution towards the attainment of sustainable urbanisation and assure favorably in youth development as well as the betterment of societies as a whole.
