We are pleased to circulate herewith a copy of the final Declaration for the 15th Melaka International Youth Dialogue (MIYD) “Youth and Armed Conflict: To Express Without A Feat, To Progress Without A Threat” that was held from 22nd to 24th of June 2015 at the Kings Green Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia.

The 15th MIYD, was organised by the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia), Melaka State Government, Asian Youth Council and Malaysian Youth Council. After thorough deliberations through paper presentations, plenary sessions, workshops and field trips, the participants put together this important outcome document, addressed to all the stakeholders to ensure that the rights of various categories, pertaining to youth and armed conflicts, are acknowledged and protected.

With this, the participants of the 15th MIYD, acknowledged the significance of expressing and progressing themselves without fear and threat as a fundamental human right, regardless of their social, economical and geographical status. They shall continue to seek and generate youth dialogues and advocate for legislations, policies and programmes at all levels of society, in order to achieve a better and sustainable future of a conflict free generation.

Looking forward to seeing you all next year for another Dialogue!
