We are pleased to inform that UN Secretariat is organizing a number of activities to get the young people’s perspectives and experiences in the migration process ( i.e. when they prepare to migrate, in transit, in destination countries, when they return to their countries of origin and when they are left behind by their parents). They invite participation of young migrants and other youth, who are affected by migration, to contribute directly to the 2013 World Youth Report (WYR) that will address youth migration concerns.
We are pleased to inform you that the 2013 World Youth Report (WYR) will address youth migration concerns. This forthcoming Report will attempt to offer a multidimensional account or perspective of the life experiences of the young migrants and young people affected by migration by highlighting some of their concerns, challenges and successes.
Following the positive experience of the 2011 WYR, the WYR 2013 will also be an online interactive publication (see www.unworldyouthreport.org). Starting January 21, 2013 the UN Focal Point on Youth will organize a number of interactive activities (i.e. survey and youth migration consultations, Google+Hangout with young people and experts, etc.) that will aim at allowing young migrants and other youth affected by migration to share their experiences on migration.
We are pleased to inform you that a new discussion thread on inequalities faced by girls has started on the discussion space on Young People and Inequalities in the post-2015 development agenda. The discussion is co-moderated by UNICEF, Restless Development, World Vision International and UN Volunteers.
