Call for Application-The 2019 ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit (AYES)

We are proud to announce that the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) is an official event supporter for the ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit (AYES) which is scheduled to take place from 20th to 23rd February 2019 at the GT-Toyota Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines.

First held in 2017, the ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit (AYES) is a high-level platform avenue for the student leaders, young professionals, and world changers from the ASEAN region. Last year’s summit was a success attended by more than 200 youth leaders and professional nationwide. Given the overwhelming number of applications last year, the ASEAN Youth Engagement Summit aims to have an even bigger and bolder event by catering for approximately 500 student leaders, young professionals, world-changers, and aspirants coming from different backgrounds across the ASEAN regions.

18th MIYD Report

Warm Greetings from the World Assembly of Youth headquarters in Melaka, Malaysia!

We are pleased to herewith circulate the Report of the 18th Melaka International Youth Dialogue (18th MIYD) “Youth Engineering A Sustainable Urbanisation” that was held from 24th to 28th of June 2018 at the Pantai Puteri Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia. The 18th MIYD was organised by the World Assembly of Youth in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia, Melaka State Government, the Asian Youth Council, the Commonwealth Youth Council, the Malaysian Youth Council and the Commonwealth Youth Innovation Center.

This theme was tackled at the international level, where it brought together over 140 young people and youth leaders from 42 countries. After comprehensive deliberations through paper presentations, plenary sessions, workshops and field trips, the participants put together an important outcome document that comprised of recommendations to all stakeholders inclusive of young people, in addressing and attaining sustainable urbanisation.

Recognising that in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and latest Urban Agenda, the participants also recommended that they, young people, should be at the forefront of universal transformation in taking actions and encouraging their peers to be responsible and proactive citizens in attainment of sustainable urbanisation.

World Food Security Conf 3

We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Global Food Security Conference (GFSC) with the theme ‘Youth Step Up To Achieve Food Security’ scheduled to take place from 14th to 17th October 2018 at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Melaka, Malaysia, has been cancelled. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.

The Organising Committee of GFSC would like to once again apologise for this last minute cancellation and would like to thank all the current registered delegates, speakers, observers, sponsors, and volunteers and wish to call upon them to continue supporting us and participating in the upcoming events.
